Philippine Father

A contentious presidential election in the Philippines forces a reporter to reexamine old wounds in both his country and his own past.

This short documentary was my Master’s thesis at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. Production included a 10-day shoot in the Philippines, funded in part by the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting. The film screened at the Columbia University 2022 DocFest. The Prizes Department at Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism

The Department oversees and runs many of the most prestigious awards in the industry: Lukas, Cabot, Chancellor, Oakes, and duPont-Columbia.

From 2021 to 2023, I coordinated social media campaigns for these awards. This included pitching and producing videos, writing script, editing, and creating motion graphics.

Below is a sample of some of this work. Search for the hashtags #duPont2023 and #duPont2022 on the official Columbia Journalism Instagram and Twitter accounts to see more content I produced.
